100 days of AAP Govt (Poll promises on AAP Manifesto for Delhi)


Arvind Kejriwal assumed power again  on 14th Feb 2015 with  historic mandate. During entire election campaign Arvind Kejriwal  had promised Delhi to be first corruption free state , a govt on concept of swaraj and most importantly a government that would respond to the common people.

AAP Delhi team came up with ‘Delhi Dialogue’  a unique model of collaborative development to forge a partnership between the government and the citizens of Delhi. Through series of dialogues with public , AAP released impressive 70 point blueprint for a five year government, that will deliver the actionables for all sections of Delhi .

Manish sisodia appointed as Deputy CM and Arvind Kejriwal decided to serve without any portfolio. Delhi Chief Minister,forms 9-member panel  to implement the 70 promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party in its election manifesto. As soon as Arvind Kejriwal become chief minister he started his famous JANTA DARBAAR to hear public grievances and resolve them in timely manner. Arvind Kejriwal holding his public hearings at his official residence 3 days in a week. Arvind Kejriwal established 9-member panel  to implement the 70 promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party in its election manifesto.

A period of 100 days in power is too short to judge any chief minister,  when five years time is given to show results , but this is certainly long enough  period to judge the direction of the man and his government.

Delhi Janlokpal Bill: delhi govt working on Janlokpal bill and will table in June this year.

Swaraj Bill: AAP govt’s one of major poll promise and initiative to pass power to public is still no where on paper right now ,But in absence of this bill also AAP govt is making citizens participants in governance. Janta ka Budget kicks off in 6 constituencies of Delhi : Oklha, Karawal Nagar, Dwarka, Bawana, Patparganj and Chhatarpur.Street kids draft own budget for Mohalla Sabha and  Delhi Dialogue Commission organised  a town hall meeting for making policy recommendations to the Delhi Government on various aspects .

Full Statehood for Delhi:Chief minister on first meet with PM , requested for full statehood of Delhi .

Transparent Governance : To make system  transparent ,Delhi becomes first state to roll out E-ration cards and  “paperless registration” of all types of vehicles. Online trafficking system established for complaints of vehicle theft. Acquiring government certification for marriage, income, domicile, caste, nationality, birth and death will soon be replaced by a virtual experience on the e-district platform in Delhi. Portal to file public grievances online has been launched, MLA /MP can review complaint any time and status of the complaint can be tracked.

POWER:

Electricity Bills reduced by 50 % ,CAG Audit of Power companies is going on.To promote renewable energy, DERC come up with roof top solar ‘NET METERING ‘ POLICY .

Delhi Metro will have its first green power sub-station that will have solar power panels, wetland sewage treatment plant, and other eco-friendly features.

WATER:

Water As A Right in  poll promise ,Delhi Jal Board (DJB) is likely to install around 100 water-dispensing machines in Delhi ,Bawana Water Treatment Plant and Dwarka Water Treatment Plant commissioned.Govt.  announced 20,000 litres free water and Sewerage charges also waived off.

In order to cut down water loss in the distribution & service connections of the consumers, the water utility board has set up a Leak Detection Investigation Cell.

GPS IN Water Tankers  and online info about tankers, drivers and delivery schedule to crack down on water mafia.

To revive Yamuna ,Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is in the process of setting up a recycling plant along the Yamuna river belt, also plans to put up wire mesh along the bridges on the river.

Govt has made rainwater harvesting mandatory in all institutions, residential colonies, new buildings and in all plots with an area of more than 1000 sq m, that are being developed.This is also applicable to all the buildings in notified areas that have tubewells. In case of not complying with norm fine will be imposed on water bills.

Pollution & Waste Management:

Coordinating with Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Kejriwal led AAP Government announces to build two lakh new toilets. Trial run for  waste-to-energy plant in Ghazipur will provide a big relief from the landfill sites since it does not have a composting plant like the one in Okhla. “It is a healthy, environment-friendly site with no emissions.”reviewing option to shut Okhla waste to energy plant .

Polluted water from najafgarh drain to be treated before releasing to Yamuna to reduce water pollution .The Delhi Jal Board is setting up five decentralised Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) to treat effluent for non-potable purposes and bridge the demand and supply gap,and MLA’s checking progress of drain desilting.

Delhi government will plant as many as 14 lakh saplings across the national capital during 2015-16 in its bid to improve the green cover in the city,

EDUCATION:

To improve education in govt schools  Delhi govt is keeping strict vigil on all govt schools ,education minister inspecting schools frequently and taking action in case of any corruption.To reduce admission with fake certificate of under privileged students ,online certificate verification system has been started

The honorarium for Anganwadi workers has already been increased from Rs.750 to Rs.4,000 to Rs.5,000 per month.

45 new govt school and upgradation of old govt schools.planning for separate education board, experimental curriculum, reward of foreign training and increments to motivate principles to make their schools a model for private schools.

Healthcare:

Safety and security:

To ensure safety and security of delhite , Dark spots identified all over delhi and adequate lighting  has been provided.

Installation of CCTVs in schools started and some MLA’s also installing CCTV in their area from MLA FUND.Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has decided to install 100 CCTV cameras at 26 identified locations where debris is regularly dumped.

Homeguards training completed, very soon will be deploy on DTC buses for safety of passengers.women’s security center in each district,likely to be located in the district magistrate’s office.

The AAP government would provide 1,000 Wi-Fi hotspots by February 2016.The Delhi government is likely to roll out free Wi-Fi service on DTC buses in the next two to three months. The pilot project will be executed on select routes.

Delhi Government Verified more than 50,000 old-age pensioners to provide pension.

The Delhi government has earmarked Rs 10 crore from its own budget to pay enhanced compensation to the kin of victims of the 1984 Sikh riots.

To improve public transport, Govt introducing 1,000 new buses and 500 midi buses . ,Registration of battery-operated rickshaws  started around 19000 new license issued.

Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has recruited its first woman driver.

Infrastructure

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced time-bound regularisation of all unauthorised colonies in the Capital while assuring those living in the slum that they would shortly get permanent housing facility.The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) has submitted a voluminous slum-free city action plan (SFCAP) to Delhi government for approval. Delhi government has shortlisted 6 colonies in Northwest, Southwest and East districts. In Northwest, Chandan Vihar and I-Block Prem Nagar-II have been shortlisted for fixing boundaries and regularization of 1600 Un-Authorized Colonies.Delhi Govt also opened the registry of booked properties.Use of remote sensing satellite technology to check and map unauthorised constructions and encroachments in the city.

To improve road infrastructure,Public works Department (PWD) has been directed to repair potholes and rough patches on all roads under its control within three weeks in the month of march ,a 10-member team of engineers is formulated to conduct a quality control and technical audit of all ongoing construction works of the government in the Capital. The Delhi Government’s Public Works Department has launched a centralised complaint centre for registration of complaints against potholes and rough patches on the roads under its control.

The Delhi Government will amend the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, by making provision for stringent punishment for employers for non-payment of minimum wages to the workers.

CORRUPTION FREE GOVT.

AAP govt came into existence on plank of anti corruption and  won delhi on a commitment  to make delhi first corruption free state.To acheive this anti-corruption helpline 1031 has been launched again. So far 37 officials have been arrested and sent to jail based on complaints about bribe demands or their involvement in corrupt practices. To eradicate corruption, ministers,MLAs are working in transparent manner  and delhi govt is quarterly reporting RTI to be made by all government officials.Delhi govt made it mandatory for each MLA to conduct mohalla sabha in their respective constituency and ended VIP culture.

Its tough to judge any govt on 100 days work but we can  say that AAP Govt is moving in right direction. But suggestion of public trial of media or fight with LG are few issues where govt has to introspect , AAP govt can fight in better way.

AAP Govt has delivered on 14 poll promises ,working on 48 promises and NO U-TURN on any poll promise in 100 days. We wish good luck to AAP govt to deliver on all poll promises and make delhi first corruption free state .
